As a result not only the amount of software increases but also the amount of data modern vehicles generate.Within the VDL Bus & Coach group the VDL ETS System Competence Centre is responsible for the system and software development. For this group we are looking for an
IoT Architect to work on mobile connectivity systems and cloud architectures to enable functions like remote diagnostics and fleet management solutions. The System Competence Centre selects the controllers and defines the architecture how to interface and integrate these in a vehicle. Next to that it develops the software application layer running on these controllers. Most controllers are typically
PLC based. However the connectivity controller is a Linux/Android system. The department is involved from an early concept phase up to commissioning at customer side, following a V-model and ‘Agile’ hybrid way of working. In this role you define the technical roadmap for the connectivity, data and fleet management functions of the bus portfolio in alignment with the commercial roadmap. You derive the technical requirements and translate these into work packages.
With these you fill and prioritise the backlog. In the daily operation you technically lead and coach a small team of engineers and you are the main technical contact for supplier interaction. Your contribution to the improvement of the development processes within VDL ETS would be greatly valued. Your profile: You have a
